Education

A new school building has been inaugurated in Sitapuram to help the meritorious school students in and around our factory for quality education. The school meets the requirement for the students from Nursery to High school education. The school; Vishnu vidya niketan was started in the year 1984, now in a sprawling new campus with all latest education facilities. |
| Presently 357 students from our colony and surrounding villages are benefitted by education facility provided by the Company. The school was completed with an investment above 10 Million rupees.In order to help the cause of orphaned children and to integrate the less fortunate |

| sections with the mainstream, Zuari Cement donated Rs 1 million to construct a building for providing free education to hundred orphan children. We also donated 1 million rupee to “Kadappa Ratnalu Trust” which identifies meritorious students in the district and offers scholarships for their studies. School bags were also distributed to children in need, who are studying in MPP School, Kodur village. |
Medical
| The new 5 million rupee dispensary building that was constructed at our Sitapuram unit is headed by qualified doctors and has all the facilities required for an emergency and/or routine medical care for our employees, their families and local communities. |

| Throughout the year, as part of our social responsibility initiatives, Zuari Cement’s health center organized medical camps to benefit various sections of society.There were free medical camps for diabetes patients at our health centre, as well as in the nearby villages like Valasapalli, |

Thummalapalli, Kodur and Dondapadu and at Dondapadu BC boy’s hostel. In association with leading hospital, we organized a camp for orthopedics & Cardiology.
As part of our commitment to communities around our units, we
- Provide medicines free of cost to neighboring villages
- Conduct periodical Medical camps
- Hold regular immunization camps
| Community development
- In order to create better life for the villagers and in line with our responsibility to ensure the basic needs of the local community, we have installed a 1 million rupee water plant with a capacity of 1000 liters/hour in Peddanapadu village and a similar plant in Thummalapalli village.
- We have laid pipe line from Vannipakkam village to Attipattu village where the main water source is available for the all the neighboring villages.
- Zuari Cement constructed roads in Mutyalamma and Mudiraj Bazaars in Revoor village, SC colony, Bodrai Bazaar, Gandhi Nagar and Kalayanmadapam in Dondapadu village. The overall investment for construction of roads was Rs 2.5 million.
