"Feel at Home” – an Employee Induction Program

Zuari Cement organized an employee induction program, which has been named as “Feel at Home”.
The objective of this program is to induct all the newly joined employees into the Group values, company’s policies & procedures and familiarize them into the various functions. Mr.M.Caneppele, Managing Director has inaugurated the program on 24th June 2010 and all the Functional Heads, Safety,communication
and Sustainable Development Heads have addressed. The program was held at Bangalore and 16 employees from various functions and locations have participated in this program.

World Environment Day

Zuari Cement celebrated the World Environment Day on 5th June 2010 in collaboration with the Officials of APPCB (Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board).
At Yerraguntla plant a rally was organized ,which was inaugurated by            Mr.P. Munireddy ,Vice president -works; in which Zuari employees and Zuari -DAV School children had participated along with the APPCB officials.
There after a public meeting was held at the Yerraguntla ZP High School wherein the importance of World Environment Day was highlighted.

"Best Management Award" for Zuari Cement

Zuari Cement bagged the ‘ Best Management Award’ from the Labor department of Government of Andhra Pradesh.
The Award was presented by the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh ,on the occasion of ‘May Day celebration’ held at Hyderabad on May 1st 2010 .Zuari cement have been selected for this prestigious award in the category of ‘medium scale industries’ in the state.
The criteria for selection was based on these unique achievements: Best practices in people management. Meeting all statutory compliances of regular & contract employees. Transparent and best practices in contract labor management. Excellent Labor welfare and employee beneficial schemes like medical/life insurance etc Maintaining excellent relationship with Unions and all stake holders , no industrial unrest Community development activities.

Bio Diesel Plantation

Zuari cement ,as part of its commitment towards the environment ,worked in collaboration with the local government and developed over 38 acres of land with Bio diesel plantation .The plantation was developed near our factory at yerraguntla in the peddanapadu village.
This will generate a self sustainable eco model  with assistance of the local villagers.
