Italcementi Group Names Winner of the Award for Architecture by Women -ArcVision 
The Indian Architect Samira Rathod won a special mention from the jury along with Kate Otten (South Africa) and Patama Roonrakwit (Thailand).     
 
The aim of the arcVision Prize is to enhance the figure of the female designer in contemporary world architecture, with a special focus on the qualities a modern architect requires to develop originality in her profession as she pursues advanced, non-conventional solutions and develops a particularly strong and mature sensitivity to the human and social context.The prize is a two-week research project and workshop (during Milan Design Week, April 2015) at i.lab, the Italcementi Group Research & Innovation Center in Bergamo designed by Richard Meier, which also acts as a center for the divulgation of innovative technologies and methodologies. The winner also receives a cash prize (50,000 Euros), part of which may be devolved to social projects, at her discretion.

Zuari Cement flags off i.max
i.max – Manufacturing Excellence for Sustainable Performance is a long term plan towards achieving improved performance in manufacturing activities.     
 
The project after its successful pre-launch and icebreaker in Yerraguntla & Sitapuram has been gaining momentum within the systems.   The launch of the project along with the unveiling of the logo on 30th January 2015, in corporate office was a grand success. Senior members from both Zuari Cement & Italcementi group witnessed and embraced the change wave with enthusiasm.
Mr. Carlo Foroni, Director Technical along with Mr. Kapil Tyagi, Manager Technical maneuvered the event proceedings.  The event began with a note on safety, as highlighted by Mr. Jagatheesan, GM- EHS Safety, is a way of life at Zuari Cement.

CSI India flags off initiatives for 2015, at the CSI India
 – CEO meeting 
The CSI India – CEO meeting was a grand success with the presence of the CEOs and liaison delegates from 8 cement majors across India. The list of attendees included ACC, Ambuja, CRH India, Zuari Cement, UltraTech, Dalmia, Heidelberg and SDCC-Votorantim.
 
The event hosted by Zuari Cement on the 8th Jan 2015 in Bangalore, was chaired by our Managing Director, Mr.Nabil Francis and attended by Mr. Philippe Fonta- Managing Director, WBCSD (World Business Council for Sustainable Development) and his team from CSI India

Chennai Grinding Unit awarded ISO 50001:2011 certification for Energy Management Systems
M/s. Zuari Cement Limited, Chennai has received UKAS Accredited ISO 50001:2011 Energy Management System Certificate from NQA in India.
 
Chennai Grinding Unit operating under Zuari Cement Limited India, has been awarded ISO 50001 certification, for their state-of-the-art production facility with reference to energy management systems.

‘Prazna’ a Zuari Cement CSR Initiative
 
Zuari Cement taking further steps to make the community around its production facilities self dependent has established ‘Prazna’ a skill development and self employment drive for the youth. This initiative desires to promote skill enhancement activities for the rural youth and to enable them to be a support to themselves and their family.
