Zuari Cement gifts Sewing machine to Prazna ladies for self reliance

PRAZNA - Skill Development program - Zuari Cements’ CSR initiative to empower women from neighboring villages of its manufacturing facilities, was Initiated in October 2014.

 

As part of this activity, 32 women from four local adopted villages
near Yerraguntla were given training in tailoring activities. This team
of ladies put up an exhibition cum sale of their tailoring efforts both at the plant as well as the Corporate Office, Bangalore, during the International Women’s day on 9th March 2015. Their products were well received and were totally sold out at both the locations
.


Yerraguntla plant honored with "Group Safety Recognition"

The group safety recognition ‘1 year without a lost time injury
 ‘was officially awarded to the Yerraguntla plant on 27th March 2015 .

 

In an official function at the plant, our Director technical –Mr. Carlo Foroni congratulated the entire team on this unique achievement .He also added that with this important bench mark and 2014 being a fatality free year, the plant has to aspire for a holistic safety approach initiating from plant to home of the employee .Plant Head
Mr.Y.S. Rao confirmed the commitment on safety and outlined
the steps in this journey

Sitapuram plant honored with Group Safety Recognition

Safety has always been a key focus area across Italcementi
Group. The Group practices strict safety norms across its
facilities and encourages ‘Safety as a way of living’..

 
On 9th April 2015, our Sitapuram Plant completed 1 year without
 a loss time injury. The plant was honored with “Group Safety Recognition – 1 year without LTI” by Group Safety Manager, Mr. Philippe Labbe on 23rd April 2015 at a function organized in the plant .  Mr.Sunil Kumar, Plant head, received the award on behalf
of all employees of Sitapuram in the presence of our MD, Mr.Nabil Francis.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr.Philippe Labbe, advised all to aspire for a holistic safety approach of making “Safety A Way of Living”.

CSI India flags off initiatives for 2015, at the CSI India
 – CEO meeting 

The CSI India – CEO meeting was a grand success with the
presence of the CEOs and liaison delegates from 8 cement
majors across India. The list of attendees included ACC,
Ambuja, CRH India, Zuari Cement, UltraTech, Dalmia, Heidelberg and SDCC-Votorantim.

 
The event hosted by Zuari Cement on the 8th Jan 2015 in
Bangalore, was chaired by our Managing Director, Mr.Nabil
Francis and attended by Mr. Philippe Fonta- Managing Director, WBCSD (World Business Council for Sustainable Development)
and his team from CSI India
